March 2023 Initial fundraising - Running in a house

Sgh raised £800 for our initial costs!

Someone in Hastings Rental Health suggested we run the Hastings Half Marathon to raise the profile of HRH. So, Nichelle and Sarah started training. With 5 weeks instead of the recommended 9 weeks training, both suffered injuiries early on, and Nichelle had to back out due to moving house again. So Sarah tried to push through her dodgy knee, and cobbled together a little house to run in. There were issues right up until the race with a last minute family trip to A&E and so very little sleep, but some how through the delirium, the marathon was run, with wonderful support from family, new coop members, neighbours and community. We will be melting the medal down for our home's first door knob!

The funding will cover registration with Catalyst Collective, set up materials, and research trips to learn from other co-operatives. And we raised £400 for the amazing guys at Surviving the Streets in Hollington and their community garden - Woody Wood Garden. Everyone's a winner
